As you walk through the green forests, lush meadows and along the tranquil lake, you can’t help but tune into the rhythms of nature – similar to the Ayurveda cure in Germany, where the focus is on being in harmony with natural cycles. Witnessing the melodic duet of cranes, the unmistakable call of the fire-bellied toad and the seasonal dance of flowering wood anemones and the migration of Nordic geese, Alt Rehse ayurveda park is not only an oasis for nature lovers, but also a testament to the timeless wisdom and holistic approach of Ayurveda.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Alt Rehse Schlosspark, a central feature of the retreat, was originally established in 1897 by Baron Ludwig von Hauff. Anchored by the neo-Gothic manor “Schloss Lichtenstein” and shaped by the landscape influences of Lenné and Pückler, the park began as a peaceful private estate. Over the decades, it bore witness to significant historical transitions—first serving as a training center for military-aligned medical professionals, and after World War II, being repurposed as a children’s orphanage and later a vocational training facility.

During the GDR era, the park became a restricted military zone and remained under Bundeswehr use until German reunification. In 2016, Gabriele Wahl-Multerer (GWM) acquired the estate with a vision to restore its historical dignity and tranquil essence. This vision culminated in the establishment of Retreat Park Am See Nattika in 2023, in collaboration with Nattika Ayurveda, creating a space of healing and serenity amid a landscape rich with cultural and historical legacy.

Guests can enjoy yoga and meditation sessions offered at different time slots throughout the day, along with access to a well-equipped gym and two sauna facilities—one situated near the gym and the other by the serene Tollensesee lake shore. Additional experiences include bicycle rides, seasonal water activities such as kayaking and boating, guided nature walks, and ample opportunities to immerse themselves in the peaceful ambiance of the Tollensesee and the historic Alt Rehse Village.

Vata, Pitta, and Kapha are the three Doshas in Ayurveda, regarded as the fundamental bio-energies that govern all physiological and psychological functions in the body. Each individual has a unique proportion of these energies, which determines their body constitution or Prakriti. Based on the dominance of a particular Dosha, individuals are classified into different body types, influencing their physical traits, mental tendencies, and physiological conditions.

A key concept of Ayurveda is that the universe is composed of five fundamental elements—Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether—and so is every living being, including humans. Health is considered a state of harmony between these elements within the individual and their environment. When this natural balance is disturbed, it leads to illness. Ayurveda seeks to restore balance by using nature-based approaches, drawing on the same five elements to support healing and well-being.

In common terms, the seven types of Dhatus are plasma, blood, muscle, fat, bone, bone marrow and reproductive fluid. In Ayurveda, they are called Sapta Dhatus – Rasa, Rakta, Mamsa, Meda, Asthi, Majja and Sukhra respectively.
